SHE'S A DREAM by K. Dennis / Dave Allen
She will tell you life is good
She will smile when she should
She will laugh, and sing songs with you
She's a dream come true
She loves movies and book stores
She will ride her bike by the shore
She likes the rain that cools off the day
She says it's her way to get away
She will say that life is good
She knows it's understood
Yes it's understood
You know it's good
She's a dream
She likes her shoes, but walks barefoot in her home
She enjoys a scary film, but not when she's alone
She likes the simple things, and all that life can bring
Know why?
She's a dream
She's a dream come true

I Can't Always Be There

I CAN'T ALWAYS BE THERE FOR YOU by Dave Allen
Hello...no, I can't come right now
Can I come in an hour?
No, no, no, I can't now
The boss is mad at me already
What am I to do, what am I to say again?
I can't always be there for you
I can't, even though I might want to
I can't be with you forever
You know I'm right
Hello...no I can't come right now
Can I come in an hour or two?
Let me know...no, I can't come right now
I told you, babe you know it's true
I can't always be there for you
I can't, even though I might want to
I can't wait on you forever
You know I'm right
Hello...no, I can't come right now
Can I come in an hour?

Hard Life (Rough Ride)

HARD LIFE by K. Dennis / Dave Allen
I don't want any border wall
It's hard to hear through the brick
And I don't want to lose my home
To investment tricks
And I don't want to hear those lies
Thin excuses when it all goes wrong
Isn't this where the hero comes in?
Does anyone really have a plan?
Build a wall to keep them out, he said
Tear down the walls within
Go ahead and let the bear
Run loose again
It's a hard life, it's a rough ride
Isn't this where the hero comes in?
He's the man who has a plan
It's a hard life, it's a rough ride
Isn't this where the hero comes in?
Does anyone have a plan?

TAKING ADVICE by K. Dennis
I was never any good about taking advice
I knew I knew better, and I'd sermonize
I was never any good about taking advice
Once or twice I tried, but I could not crystallize
Advice about wisdom, advice about folly
Advice about glory, advice about disgrace
Advice about wisdom, advice about folly
Advice about glory, advice about disgrace
I was never any good about taking advice
I listened to my gut, that proved unwise
I was never any good about taking advice
Best words I ever heard from a cop on the roadside
Advice about wisdom, advice about folly
Advice about glory, advice about disgrace
Advice about wisdom, advice about folly
Advice about power, advice about my place
I was never any good about taking advice
I stupidly knew better - didn't recognize
Advice about wisdom, advice about folly
Advice about glory, advice about disgrace
Advice about wisdom, advice about folly
Advice about glory, advice about disgrace

Way of the World

WAY OF THE WORLD by Dave Allen
In the early morning hours
He'll wake up and start another day
The same way he did the day before
And the one before that
On and on and on and on it goes...
In the early morning hours
He makes a pot of coffee and watches the early morning news
There's a hurricane in Florida
And an earthquake hit in Spain
And the northern winds have fanned the flames in Utah once again
And he wonders if Mother Nature's getting her revenge
For all the times that she's been hurt before
In the early morning hour
He drinks his cup of coffee, looks outside the window
And contemplates his day
It's been very busy lately, and for all of that he's grateful
He'll take busy over boredom any day
And he wonders if it's worth it
And if he'll make it through the day
And for all of that there's nothing he can say
It's just the way of the world
In the quiet of the evening
He'll sit back on the sofa and fall asleep before the tv
The cat will take his place, in his lap,
It's always that way, every day indeed

EVERY DAY by K. Dennis
She said she took a shine to me when we first met
I was a little bit slower, but I caught up quick
We were together for years, more than fun
And that's a fact
But something went wrong and we split
That time never left my mind...
We found each other again, years down the line
And found that shine still burned bright
We were apart for years, now we're together
Every day
We were apart for years, now we're together
Every day
We were apart for years, now we're together
Every day
And there's a light that shines when we're together
Every day

Fremont

FREMONT by Dave Allen
In a time of lesser convenience
Before technology had taken a hold
There was a town in eastern Nebraska
Where the kids all played in the snow
We would travel by train every winter
Past the farmlands and plains in the night
Arriving late into town when the stores had closed down
Grandma stood out by the light
And I can hear hear those raindrops falling at night
Outside that patio door
On the red brick streets of Fremont
Walk down Main past city hall
Take a right at Spencer's corner
Down the road's a Tastee Freeze
It's amazing how nothing has changed
Fifty years and it all looks the same
It's oddly compelling, like a town in a snowball
Untouched by the passage of time
Becky Lee, Beth and Lenora
Met every day at a quarter of three
They played bridge, spades and canasta
Swapping stories and eating their treats
Uncle Earl, he served in the senate
And General Pierce later served in the court
And Lonnie got by pumping gas at the Standard
Over there on Park
I can hear hear those raindrops falling at night
Outside that door
On the red brick streets of Fremont
Cars pass by and people wave
There's a peace and calm in Fremont
They get by from day to day
It's amazing how nothing has changed
Fifty years, it all looks the same
It's oddly compelling, like a town in a snowball
Surrounded by the passage of time
On the red brick streets of Fremont
Walk down Main past city hall
Take a right at Spencer's corner
Down the road's a Tastee Freeze

Roll Away The Stone

ROLL AWAY THE STONE by K. Dennis
Sitting by the mountain creek
Ever flowing...downstream to greed
Here's the church, here's the people
Is there love here? The kind you'll need, to
Rise up and roll away the stone
The one that blocks the road back home
Rise up and roll away the stone
All hands on the hate that breaks our bones
Roll away the stone
You can't be best if you don't help those with less
If your god didn't teach that, then he's no good
Make your own god - mine's up there upon that mountain stream
Make your own god - nature is truth, I know you know what I mean
Make your own god - mine's up there upon that mountain stream
Make your own god - nature is truth, I know you know what I mean
Make your own god - rise up, rise up and roll away the stone
Make your own god - all hands on the hate that breaks our bones
Roll away the stone
